Branch Hill House

Client: Almax Group
Location: Hampstead
Build Cost:
£30m

MEP Concepts was appointed by Almax Group to undertake the MEP performance design for the £30 million part refurbishment, part new build residential property on an existing site in Hampstead.

Arranged over 7 floors, the scheme incorporates 28 apartments, including a number of large penthouse apartments.

MEP Concepts worked at the planning stage to produce an energy strategy compliant with the notoriously difficult Camden Planning policy. This involved the incorporation of a communal ambient loop ground source heat pump (GSHP). The design by MEP Concepts required close coordination with the Architect, Structural Engineer and Planning Consultant to ensure planning requirements regarding energy were met alongside the client’s aspirations for the scheme.

The scheme incorporates underfloor heating to each apartment and detailed riser setting out was required at Stage 3 to ensure adequate space was allowed within the architect’s design.

The design also involved the refurbished element of the building requiring significant coordination with the existing structure.
