Parkgate School

Client: T Clarke
Location: Parkgate Primary School, Watford

MEP Concepts worked in conjunction with T Clarke to complete the design for the new heating and mains cold water system at Parkgate Primary School in Watford.

With one of the two existing boilers having already recently been decommissioned, the school was running on only one boiler. The project involved a detailed survey of the existing systems prior to strip-out.

An initial rule of thumb calculation had been undertaken by the Local Council for the purposes of tendering.  However, MEP Concepts undertook detailed energy modelling to assess the requirements of the system, resulting in the overall plant requirements being reduced by 15%.  This will result in both energy savings for the school and a reduction in the capital outlay.

It is also anticipated this installation will save approximately 15 tonnes of carbon annually.

Due to the tight timescales involved, our design team was able to turn around the work in two weeks, including carrying out the survey.
