- Regulatory advice – MEES, EPC, Parts F,G, J L, F, O, P, Q, R and S of Building Regulations 2021.
- Utilities and infrastructure – design and coordination & due diligence reporting.
- Building services condition surveys and reporting, risk and investment appraisals.
MEP Concepts are well placed to provide all the building services design requirements from concept design through to building handover.
Our previous development & refurbishment projects range from schools to stadiums, from high end residential dwellings to mixed used high rise apartment blocks, from individual retail units to multi occupancy retail parks.
We are committed to providing a robust and technically resilient service, meeting specific mechanical and electrical design needs.
Our technical experience enables us to provide both full and performance Building Services Engineering Design as required.
We can provide a competitive, coordinated design, with close collaboration between the individual disciplines and engineering teams. We regard this to be essential to the successful delivery of a project.
Our integrated approach to building design begins at definition of brief. With a strong focus on sustainability we consider a range of factors in developing our strategies, including whole life costing, carbon compliance and occupant comfort.
We are pragmatic and client focused, ensuring our strategies meet our client’s expectations.

Low Carbon and Net Zero Strategies
MEP Concepts carry out building energy assessments for all ranges of requirements including:
- Supporting planning applications for new developments including compliance modelling for GLA ‘London Plan’ policy requirements.
- Regulatory compliance for Building Regulations 9ADL) 2021. We are level 5 DSM assessor’s and LCEA for EPC generation.
- MEES 2018 (and future 2030) compliance reporting.
- PAS 2035 (domestic) and PAS 2038 (non-domestic) retro fitting buildings for improved energy efficiency.
Our engineers use dynamic simulation modelling to undertake building energy assessments. This allows us to m model the buildings energy (kWh) and CO2 emissions and report and advise on improvements and solutions to minimise both of these key indicators.
We will adopt passive and low carbon solutions to reduce a buildings energy demand before applying renewable technologies to ensure optimum design principles are always adopted.
As building services engineers we can apply new technical solutions such as ambient loop and 5th generation heat network connectivity to resolve challenges at planning and development stages.
We have current experience of GLA ‘London Plan’ policy SI-2 minimising greenhouse gas emissions, SI-3 energy infrastructure and SI-4 managing heat risk. We have attended numerous committee meetings and design panel reviews on behalf of clients to advise and represent the developer scheme proposals with regard to the policy implications.
We can support development projects with the following services:
- Energy Assessments.
- EPCs, Part L Compliance and BRUKL Calculations.
- SAP Energy Assessments.
- Dynamic Simulation Modelling.
- TM54 Operational Energy Prediction.
- TM59 and TM52 overheating assessments.
- Passive Design Analysis.
- PassivHaus Principles.
- Solar Gain Analysis and Fabric Energy Efficiency Assessments.
- Sun Path Analysis.
- Renewable Energy Options Appraisal.
- Carbon Offset calculations and advice.
